The Psychology

Satan was made of fire. Adam was made of clay. The reason why Satan disobeyed God when He ordered him to prostrate before Adam was that he considered himself a superior being.....This much we know to be common in the three Scriptures.

But what was going through Satan's mind? What caused him to disobey his All-Mighty Creator, to whom he was so devoted, so loyal? Was it his pride?... Yes, Pride is indeed one of the main factors of his retaliation, but again, WHY? Where did this Pride come from? I am going to try and explore this question. Please note that all I write from this point onwards is purely my opinion, and freely criticizable and nothing that I write from this point onwards should be replicated as Faith.

It is possible that Satan felt it against the laws of what God had created to bow down before something inferior. This, in fact, is the reason why Satan used to worship God so dutifully in the first place. God, being Superior to Satan, had the "license" to be worshipped.
Now, when Satan was ordered to bow down before Adam, it went against what he believed. It went against his reasonings. He thought that it conflicted with the natural order of things. How could something which was below him physically, mentally and eternally.
Satan now began to question his own beliefs and principles. He hesitated. He disobeyed God, his Creator to see, in fact, if it were possible to do such a thing. At this point we assume that Satan came to know of his ability to think, to reason, to rebel. And what were the results of such a heinous crime? He was banished from the Heavens...
But Satan leaves satisfied. The very fact that he was ABLE to openly declare a war with God fills him with confidence. In Satan's mind, the natural order of things exists no more. He COULD disobey if he wanted. He COULD be Superior to his Creator.

What Satan neglects is the fact that he is Jinn-one of the beings to upon whom God has bestowed Free Will. He is brimming with his confidence and and desire for revenge against man. He has deluded himself into thinking that his vengeance is possible and that he can conquer God. Satan lives in a Fool's Paradise....
